Protocols: Lipoic Acid (DL-alpha Lipoic acid)

Psychoactive

Description: Antioxidant. It is a constituent of the body. It is a vital substance, which the organism itself produces.

Method of Action: It plays a central role in the effective energy metabolism and in particular sugar metabolism. The enzymes that make up Lipoic acid are key in the breakdown of sugar. It protects vitamins E and C, and can therefore reduce the consequences of a deficiency in these vitamins.

Indications and Usage: Anxiety; Problems with visual perception especially those triggering anxiety and panic; Regulation of blood sugar in Type-II Diabetes. Liver detoxifier, antioxidant, hepatoprotectant.

Contraindications: Do not use this product if you are pregnant or lactating without first seeking advice from your physician.

Dosage and Administration: Normal dosage is 10 to 30 mg. daily. For hepatic therapy 50 to 200 mg per day.

Additional Considerations: No toxicity was reported in human studies but too much might cause problems not yet identified. As an antioxidant it has great potential and is well worth keeping an eye on as more information becomes available.
